I smell oil in the atmosphere sermon

"I smell oil in the atmosphere… "

Esther 2:12-14 Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;) Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king's house. In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king's chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name. Exodus 30:22-25 Moreover the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil. Olives are crushed until they are not recognizable to make the best anointing oil. The olive oil is all that is left. It doesn’t look the same, but the smell of the olive is still in the oil. The anointing oil of the Lord is created in us from us being throughout trials and is flowing in our testimonies. I can smell the oil in the air. So many have been broken, just like the alabaster box was broken for the anointing oil to flow over the feet of Jesus. We are broken and out of our brokenness the anointing oil flows. So, if you are in the process of crushing and have been broken beyond what you imagined you could stand… Baby… just hold on… the anointing is coming out of your soul. Hold fast to Jesus… I smell the oil of the anointing and it is the anointing of God that breaks the yoke. (Is. 10:27)

Heart attack is defined as a sudden, painful & dangerous condition in which your heart stops working as it was designed to work.

To begin this process of making olive oil we must chose the olives. The same thing happens with us. God chose us. Olive oil is produced by grinding olives and extracting the oil by mechanical or chemical means. Green olives usually produce more bitter oil, and overripe olives can produce oil that is rancid, so for good extra virgin olive oil care is taken to make sure the olives are perfectly ripened. You can’t pick too soon, or it will be bitter, and you can’t wait too long or it will not bring forth good oil. Just like our walk with God. Everything must be in HIS timing. If we are instructed by God to walk in a certain position and He is raising us to our full calling, but we jump straight into the calling without proper growth we get hurt and can become bitter. OR on the flip side of that if we wait too long and do not move when God says move, we miss our calling and the in time anointing that flows in God’s timing and we can spoil everything we touch. Now, we know God has chosen us because the word of God tells us that He has chosen us, so not only is timing important but we have to recognize that God has chosen us. It says the following in the word of God: Ephesians 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. We also see in John 15:16 (Jesus Speaking) Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. – So Jesus is saying here that we did not chose Him rather He chose us. Just like these olives. The olives are not choosing us … we are choosing them for the process of making olive oil. Just like Jesus is choosing us. It also says in Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nation. - So not only did He know us before we were formed in the whom, he knew us, he chose us and he also ordained us into the calling He has on our lives. So we see here that God is very deliberate in what he is doing with us and he has chosen us. So just like in the process of making the olive oil the olives are carefully chosen… The word of God tells us we are chosen too.

The next step in this process of making olive oil is to Gather your equipment. Now that we know that the olives are chosen and God chooses us and the process begins there, we must now gather what is needed to make the olive oil. When working to make olive oil there are certain things you need. You will need a grinder and a press and other things that will be used to process the olives to make the final product of olive oil that will be used in the anointing oil. In our walk with God we have certain things we need that will assist us in our walk with God and in the process of sanctification and spiritual growth under God’s anointing. One thing we need is The Word of God. This is vital. This is God. It says in John 1:1 In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. So the Word of God is truly God. We must read and study the word daily. Hiding it in our hearts. The bible says in 2 Tim 2:15 to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. So this tells me that we need to study the word of God and hide it in our hearts. So that we can rightly divide it and understand it. Another thing we need in our tool bag is Faith. We see in the word of God it says in Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And further down in Hebrews 11:6 it says: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. – So to even begin this process of walking with God you have to first believe that God is… It also says in 2 Cor. 5:7 For we walk by faith not by sight. – So faith is a key tool in this process of sanctification and in our walk. Another tool we need is Expectation. I hear my Bishop, Jeff Arnold say all the time that Expectation is the birthplace of the miraculous. So we must have expectation. We see an example of expectation in John 2:3-5 Mary did not know what Jesus would do about there being no wine, but she had faith and an expectation that he would do something. So even though he said, “what does this have to do with me…” she turned in vs. 5 and told the servants, “whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” We must learn to walk in this type of expectation that even though we may not know what Jesus will do, we must expect that He will do something and trust Him that His will be done in our lives and our situations.

After We have chosen our olives and gathered our equipment, we must then Prepare the olives. When making olive oil the olives must be washed and sorted to remove any dirt and blemishes. The same is true with us as Christians when we come to God. We do not come to Him perfect. Matthew 11:28 says Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. He didn’t say get right then come. He didn’t say, get rid of all that burden you carry then come. No, He said come to me all that labour and are heavy laden. So we can feel confident that we can come as we are, but we are not meant to stay in our sins and carry our burdens after we come to him because He said in the last part of that scripture that He will give us rest. When we yield to His calling and the draw on our hearts to come to him there is a process of sanctification in which we are washed and cleansed and filled. Just like the olives we must be washed and cleansed from all dirt and blemishes if you will. There is also a washing of our sins and our past through Baptism In Jesus Name. The word of God says in Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The definition of remission is: Cancellation of a debt, charge or penalty. And it is also defined as forgiveness of sin. This is the washing away of our sins. The last part of that scripture speaks of being filled with the Holy Ghost. This is where our power to walk in this process come from. The Bible says in Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth. So not only does He equip us with power, but He will give us a testimony to be a witness unto to the uttermost part of the earth for Him. The Bible also talks about this washing process in Revelations 7:13-14 where is says in reference to the saints: And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, what are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The next step in the process of making olive oil is Crushing and grinding. This is a process of purification. During this crushing and grinding is where everything about the olive is transformed. We go through this same type of process during sanctification. The Bible speaks of Sanctification in Leviticus 20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. Well we know we were not Holy when we come to God because the Bible says that all were born in sin and trespass. So we know we come to Him unholy. The process of sanctification is where we are transformed into becoming more like Him and transformed as our minds are renewed in Him. In our Walk with God we go through a process of purification and sanctification. Just like Esther went through the year of purification before she went before the King.

The next step in this process is the olives must be Pressed to produce the oil. (We must press forward in God.) After Olives are crushed, they are wrapped in a warm cloth and then pressed. This is the process that creates the oil. The pressing of the pulp from the crushed and ground olives is what causes the oil to come forth. The finished product of the oil is produced in this part of the process but even after this step there are small particles that remain that must be separated from the oil for it to be pure so it can be used in the anointing oil. In our Walk with God this step is the same. God chooses us, then provides us with all the tools necessary to walk with him. Then as we walk with him, we begin the process of cleansing as we are drawn by His anointing and we yield to the Spirit of God. We are then baptized, washed clean of our sins and God has given us a promise of being filled with the Holy Ghost. After this begins the sanctification process where in our Relationship with Jesus and in Daily walking with Him, He will begin to speak to us about things in our lives that are not in line with the Word of God. He will gently guide us as we follow Him and show us things that we need taken out of us so the anointing oil can flow through us as He has desired for it to. In this process of the “press” we will need a deeper relationship with Jesus which requires: A strong Prayer life and Submission to the Will of God and the Word of God. When times of trouble come, we must press forward towards the high mark that God has called us to as it says in Philippians 3:14. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

After the process of pressing the oil that is produced must go through a process of Separation. After the press, the oil that comes out still has particles that must be strained out. So, the oil is then strained to purify it even further. This process is called separation. As we walk with God, the process of sanctification is an ongoing process. We are called out of our old lives and our minds are renewed in Christ and the closer our relationship becomes with God, We begin to realize that we are in this world, but we are not of this world. It says in John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Also also see in John 17:14-16 14I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. We are called to be separated and set apart from the things of this world. It says in Ephesians 4:22-24 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. And in Romans 12:2 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

After we go through this process of purification and, after the olive oil is made, during the process of making Holy Anointing oil other elements are added in according to Exodus 30:22-25. This olive oil after being extracted from the olives is only one ingredient and still needs more added to reach the level of being used as anointing oil by the priests. We see this in the recipe for Holy Anointing Oil that was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai by God himself. The same holds true for us as we go through this process of purification. God will add things into our lives that will make us stronger in Him and more anointed in Him. We must be open to His working in our lives, however. But it is in this stage of the process of purification and sanctification that we allow him to now add some things into our spirit like patience, love, kindness (the fruits of the spirit) After He has taken out some things during the purification and pressing like anger, bitterness, hurt, strife, lying, cheating… etc. All the things the world and the devil have poured into us through our choices that have opened doors to this type of stuff.

The final step is proper Storage. I have found as many of you I am sure have found that God will keep us during our walk with him. We must walk with the understanding that nothing can separate us from the Love of God. He is with us always. It says in Romans 8:38-39 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our LORD. Also we see that is says in Deuteronomy 31:8 - And the LORD, he [it is] that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.God will sustain us if we yield to the leading and guidance of the Holy Ghost. We must learn to listen for His voice and follow as He leads us. As we walk with Him daily and we learn to grow in Him He will keep us and anoint us more and more. In the 23 Psalm it says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” This is God keeping us. He said in Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. This tells me to not covet other’s belongings and that He will keep us. He said he will never leave us nor forsake us. This is Him Keeping us. We just need to learn to walk with Him and trust Him. So, if you have found yourself in this process no matter what stage of it you are in… Just keep walking. This process is not to destroy you but to perfect you in Jesus Christ until the day of His coming. It is to empower you and draw you closer to Him as you walk on this earth. It is preparing you to go before your King. Just as Esther went through the process of purification before she was brought before the King. We are in the same process for our King who is the King of all Kings. Just as the Olives go through the process to bring forth olive oil… we are in the same process in which God is bringing forth anointing oil thru us. He has us in a process of purification so He can use us for the Kingdom of God. He has called us to be a living sacrifice and vessel for his anointing to flow through. So just try to trust the process. Stand in faith knowing that God will never leave you. Trust that He said He would work all things together for the good for them that love him and are called according to His purpose. Trust Him that while he has you in the process of making sweet anointing oil flow from you that He loves you and His love for you will sustain you through the process. Also, please remember that the anoint oil of God is strong. It is the anointing of God that breaks the yoke of bondage. We need this in our lives. God is good to us and His love and mercy will endure forever. It is time to ask Him to draw us nearer to Him. With this I will close. God bless you all and May the Hand of our Sweet Jesus ever be upon your lives and ever keep you. Remember, trust the process. We are all in it on one level or another. It is not meant to destroy you but to purify you and make you stronger in the Lord Jesus. I pray this was a help to you. God bless you all and May you have an amazing day.
